Stepan UK Ltd - Vacancy for Production Technical Manager (Operational Excellence Champion)
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager your role will be to collaborate with production management and subject matter experts to coordinate the implementation of the Operational Excellence operating philosophy across the site.
The main duties of the role are:
· Conduct ‘Gap Assessments’ at the process and product levels for each of the seven elements and champion gaps.
· Work with site management team to establish metrics and accountability for the line leadership to ensure practices are sustained.
· Drives continuous improvement activities in the area, including leading, supporting and facilitating continuous improvement and six-sigma initiatives in all aspects of the site operation (e.g. waste reduction, RTF, EHS improvements, capacity improvements, raw material usage efficiencies, energy reduction and operator knowledge and skill base.)
· Apply ‘Stable Operations’ for each targeted product representing 80% of the throughput for each process.
· Identify, develop, and drive projects and modifications to optimise: plant productivity; product quality; plant safety and environmental performance; profitability maintenance; and plant operational performance to consistently meet all our customer's requirements.
The ideal candidates will be qualified to degree level in Chemical Engineering or other relevant engineering or science, have previous experience of working in the Chemical Industry at a similar level in production or plant management. You will have knowledge of quality, safety management and MRP (preferably SAP) systems with an innovative approach to cost reduction and the ability to influence others and possess excellent problem solving skills and creativity in identifying novel solutions to persistent issues.
The average working week will be based on 37 hours, Monday to Friday, however a degree of flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business.
Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
