UKTI Business Opportunitiy - USA - Filters for Use in Chemical and Biological Protection Systems

A US defence department is seeking the development of next-generation filters for use in chemical and biological protection systems.

The filters must use state-of-the-art materials that will optimise the balance between performance, ruggedness, and pressure drop.

This business opportunity exists as part of a Rapid Innovation Fund, which delivers awards for R&D leading to the resolution of operational challenges and other critical national security needs in the areas of Energy; Advanced Materials; Manufacturing Technology; and Advanced Microelectronics.

Awards will be made on the basis of technical merit and best ideas/concepts and will not exceed $3 million USD. The schedule for the proposed technical approach must result in transition to military systems or programs within 24 months of the award.
