PHD POSITION IN ACCELERATED DISCOVERY OF MULTIFUNCTIONAL SORBENTS FOR TOXIC INDUSTRIAL CHEMICAL DETECTION AND SORPTION
£13,590 pa (Stipend)
A 42 month Ph.D position in an interdisciplinary project to develop new porous materials to neutralise hazardous molecules, in collaboration with Dstl. You will prepare new polymers and metal-organic frameworks and investigate their sorption and optical properties in a project which will give broad training in materials synthesis and characterisation focussed on a specific application.
The stipends are at the standard EPSRC rate (£13,590 on 1st October 2011) for 42 months. Candidates will have at least an upper second class honours degree in chemistry or materials science. The position is only open to UK nationals.
