Two UK divisions of an American-owned multinational polymer manufacturer have been bought by members of their management team.  

Mark Stewart, David Hall and Dominic Barrow have acquired the manufacturing and distribution divisions of Widnes-based PolyOne Corporation UK Ltd from PolyOne Corporation UK Ltd .  The remaining UK inks business will be retained by Polyone.       

A new company – PolyBlend UK Ltd, has been established to acquire the two divisions and will continue to operate from its existing 27,000 sq ft production and warehouse facility in Widnes.  Mark Stewart is the new company’s Managing Director, with David Hall heading the finance side of the business and Dominic Barrow in charge of technical and operations.  

PolyBlend specialises in the manufacture and distribution of liquid polymers, polymer additives and PVC resins which are used in many different applications. PolyBlend offers its customers bespoke material  solutions along with tolling and blending facilities .  The company’s products are supplied to customers across many industry sectors including textiles, flooring, wallcovering, dip moulding and specialist automotive applications.

Now operating as an independent entity, PolyBlend’s management team plans to build on previous successes and grow the company in both new and existing markets. The company employs 20 people at its Widnes base.
