Itinerary for the chemicals/materials focussed mission to South Korea 10-16 March 2012

UKTI have launched a proposed itinerary for the chemicals/materials focussed mission to South Korea 10-16 March 2012 (with the option to travel on to Tokyo for CPhI Japan). The deadline for sign up is 16th January 2012.

This mission is open to all UK chemical companies offering UK manufactured / UK high value-added chemicals/materials, however, UKTI have received enough expressions of interest to move forward with a dedicated in-country programme on "chemicals/materials into printed electronics". UKTI are currently working on the programme and hoping to include visits to LG Chem, SK Chem, Samsung R&D Centre and KIST.  We will keep you updated with the programme as it evolves.

Due to many of these printed electronics companies having an additional application of pharmaceutical and/or travelling on to CPhI Japan, UKTI are hoping to build in a short added-value session on chemicals/materials into pharmaceutical on the Tuesday morning.

With regard to travel & acommodation UKTI are working direct with Asiana  and have negotiated rates for Manchester-Seoul or London - Seoul return. For those travelling on to CPhI Japan a quote has also been asked for a Manchester-Tokyo or London-Tokyo return allowing a stop-over in Seoul. The mission hotel will be The Plaza, Seoul with rooms currently on hold. UKTI can alert you to all these offers once we have received your application.

The travel / accommodation package is currently looking approx £1700 travelling out on the 10th with return flight on the 16th. Eligible Northwest organisations can apply for a £830 travel grant towards this. We will pass all sign-ups from outside the Northwest to the UKTI team in that region to see whether local grants are available.

The sign-up fee per organisation is £500 + VAT.
Participation in the Printed Electronics / Site Visits programme is included in the registration fee. Please note that participation in the programme may not give you the bespoke business partner contacts relevant for pursuing market entry (e.g. agent / distributor/JV or MuL partner/ additional end-users).  So companies wishing to maximise their time and who need assistance in identifying bespoke business partners should consider receiving a cost estimate from our UKTI team in Seoul who will identify the correct business partners, their interest in meeting with you during the mission, and if you wish, arranging appointments for you during the mission.

Once again, the deadline for signing up is 16th January in order to have everything in place for the mission.

If you wish to receive the mission sign up forms please email Tricia Francis tricia.francis@uktinorthwest.co.uk and she will forward these to you. Please also let Tricia know if you wish to travel on to Japan afterwards so that she can send you more details on the activity based around CPhI Japan.
