Higher Level Skills Partnership: Energy and Environmental
Technologies
North West Universities Association (NWUA) aims to foster collaboration between its fourteen members* and regional partners for the benefit of Higher Education and the North West region.
In addition to its core strategy and policy remit NWUA operates a number of projects on behalf of its members.
One of these projects is the Higher Level Skills Partnership (HLSP), funded by NWDA. As part of the Energy and Environmental Technologies Sector within
the HLSP, eight courses based at North West institutions are being developed with employer and industry input. The project aims to achieve a step change in employer
engagement with higher level skills. This will ensure that there is a significant increase in the proportion of the NW workforce with higher level skills, contributing to the region’s knowledge economy. Details of the other HLSP sectors can be found on page 12.
