Fast Track BEng for Engineers in Industry
UK industry needs to recruit almost 600,000 engineers by 2017 in order to remain competitive
Engineering & Technology Board (2009)
Swansea Metropolitan University and Glyndwr University offer a unique opportunity for experienced and skilled people, already working in large companies and SME’s, to gain access to a part-time degree in engineering.
This project provides engineering-based businesses with the opportunity to develop a workforce with the high-level skills needed to benefit from rapidly changing technology across a number of engineering sectors.
Intensive development in engineering science and mathematics, coupled with recognition of existing skills and knowledge by APL (accreditation of prior learning) enables employees to gain a University of Wales BEng honours degree by part-time, fast-track study. Programmes offered are:
* BEng (Hons) Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering
* BEng (Hons) Manufacturing Systems Engineering
* BEng (Hons) Materials Engineering
Hosted by Swansea Metropolitan University (SMU) in South Wales and Glyndŵr University in North Wales, programmes will start in September.
