ContainerPort’s Technology Delivers Efficiency to Leading Hauliers
Liverpool Innovation Park-based company, ContainerPort is delivering software services that enable leading haulage firms like JMD Haulage to manage their fleets more efficiently and cost-effectively.
A case-study released today demonstrates how using ContainerPort’s system, JMD’s customers are able to track goods from point of collection to delivery using a PDA via the internet. By providing complete supply chain visibility, this system minimises enquiries and delivers efficiency savings by creating a paperless system and improving utilisation of capacity. The PDA also serves as a mobile phone and camera used where necessary to record damage in support of claims.
Paul Blundell, Director of JMD said, “We can better manage our fleet not only at the consignment level but we can also look at the bigger picture. At any point we can monitor performance for all customers with one view. This means better control with just the same team as we progressively grow the fleet.”
ContainerPort’s service is delivered via an advanced online freight portal hosted by AIMES Grid Services state-of-the-art data centre at Liverpool Innovation Park on Edge Lane. LIP Innovation Manager, Mark Tock said, “It’s great to see companies within LIP’s community ContainerPort’s use of AIMES’ data centre clearly demonstrates one of the key advantages of co-locating with like-minded ICT companies who also benefit from Liverpool Innovation Park’s significant infrastructure.”
