Chemistry film to inspire and inform
Most of the readers of this website will be acutely aware of how chemistry is key to all aspects of our lives, but sadly this is still not the general understanding of the world at large .
As part of International Year of Chemistry three organisations (Epca - European Petrochemical Association, Unesco and Iupac - International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) have produced a film to explain the importance of chemistry in our everyday lives, including providing access to drinking water, clothing, food and health, in developing new energies, in transport, communication, education, etc.
The film shown below and posted on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MVnF0RYXpU), Twitter and Facebook and we hope you can use it to educate your friends and family, or organisations and/or schools you or your company have links with.
Many thanks to Martin Griffiths, Solvay for the link – contributions made by Solvay products and solutions to the emergence of a sustainable chemistry are included in the film.
