Chemicals Northwest to Join Forces with Chemical Industries Association

The Board of CNW have signed Heads of Terms to continue discussions with the CIA with a view to the two organisations joining forces under CIA ownership.  This move is in response to the withdrawal of funding by the North West Regional Development Agency, but at the same time it offers an opportunity to combine national sectoral leadership and local on-the-ground delivery of practical support to north west businesses – large and small.

If the deal is successfully concluded, this potential new relationship means that the £10.2 billion sector stretching across the north west of England will become an official arm of CIA, retaining both the CNW brand and a physical presence in the region. The CIA is committed to retaining a CNW office based at the Heath together with dedicated staff, backed up by CIA national resource, which will deliver local, practical advice and support as Chemicals Northwest members experience currently. There will also be a continued programme of events for CNW members. CIA has pledged to deliver this for the same value to CNW companies.

Obviously some of the detail is still be being worked out, but we wanted to let you know the information as soon as we could and Jenny Clucas, alongside Steve Elliott of CIA, would be pleased to answer any questions or listen to any points that you wish to raise.
