Can you provide a placement for a student?

Please see information below on providing a placement for a foreign student from The National Occupational Training Centre of Cartagena. Please note there are no further costs associated with this, the programme is funded.

The National Occupational Training Centre of Cartagena, in the Region of Murcia (Spain), specializing in the field of chemistry, is interested in developing a mobility project under the framework of the European Occupational Training Programme “Leonardo da Vinci”.

The main goal of the project is to send a group of 10 trainees from the Region of Murcia divided into different groups into laboratories. They are looking for companies, laboratories, research centers, etc. to host trainees for 3 months. These students have completed a course on Laboratory Chemical Analysis at the training center and will have had complementary technical language classes. The average profile of these students is young workers (from 25 to 35 years old), with university studies in Chemical field.

The Laboratory Chemical Analysis course is comprised of the following training modules: Laboratory Organization;  Good Laboratory Practices; Safety and Hygiene and Environmental Control; Techniques in Physical and Physical-Chemical Analysis; Chemical Analysis Techniques; Instrumental analysis; Analysis Techniques in Microbiology.

The students need to carry out their practical in analysis laboratories of the following areas: Environment and/or materials; Food and agriculture industries; Petrochemical and/or refining industries; Fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, paints, oils and greases, and so on Paper mills; Pharmaceutical industries; Plastic and cork industries.

Practical training in biochemical-clinical analysis laboratories in the field of  public health such as hospitals, medical clinics and health care centers would be not be suitable for the students.

The aim of the project is to enable the students to improve their professional and personal skills in a company, thereby reinforcing their overall training and helping them to find employment.

The project could start by the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014.

Please see downloads below with more information about the project and a partnership letter to sign by the companies interested in the project.
