Calling Women in Work – last chance for skills funding
Cogent’s Women and Work fund is supporting employers in boosting the technical and functional skills of their female workforce. The programme offers a grant of up to £650 per female learner, as long as it is matched by the employer via both cash and “in-kind” contributions.
The fund supports units of competence which can be found on Cogent’s Gold Standard Competency Framework for the process industries. By completing the units, female learners will also gain credit against recognised sector qualifications, building up their skills portfolio.
This approach is ideal for companies who prefer the ‘bite-sized’ approach to skills development. This provides an immediate impact on their business performance and avoids the need for an employee to embark on a full and time consuming qualification.
The funding is aimed at female employees at Level 2 in a non-technical or Process Operator role, and will support the learner to become more competent in her current role or even progress into a more senior technical role.
The learner may choose to undertake units towards a Level 2 Certificate, or any of the Key Skills or Functional Skills units.
The funding is also aimed at employees at Level 2 or 3 in a non technical or Process Operator role who would like a taster in skills for a more senior technical role.
The learner can choose from units towards a Level 3 Diploma, Level 2 Diploma or Level 2 NVQ - or any of the Key Skills or Functional Skills.
