Member News - Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services Acquires ATG

Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services (UK) Ltd are pleased to announce that the Board and shareholders of ATG (AT Group Ltd) have agreed the sale of the entire share capital of the Company to Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services (UK) Ltd, with effect from 4th January 2011. Going forward, the Company will shortly change its name to trade as BIS ATG.

Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services (UK) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services GmBH based in Munich, the market leader in the provision of industrial services to the Process and Power industries in Europe and North America (http://www.bis.bilfinger.com/) The business had total revenues in 2010 of £3Bn and employed 24,000 people, providing local solutions to customers in 20 different countries.

The UK business of Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services targets the offshore market from its base in Aberdeen through BIS Salamis, and the onshore markets through North West based BIS Industrial Services. In 2010, UK revenues totalled £206M with 3,000 core employees serving the Chemicals, Refining, Energy and Oil & Gas markets across the UK. BIS provides an unrivalled breadth and depth of industrial competencies for customers including; engineering design, ME&I installation and maintenance, the provision of access, insulation and coatings, off-site and on-site fabrication in steel or GRP, overhaul management and planning, inspection, project management and maintenance support services.

BIS ATG will operate as an independent subsidiary of the UK holding company alongside the two existing BIS operating companies. BIS ATG will remain the same effective and responsive organisation that has served their customers for the last 25 years, but now with access to the considerable financial and support resources of the Bilfinger Berger Group.

This acquisition strengthens BIS UK capabilities in Electrical, Control and Instrumentation services for design, maintenance and installation requirements to the process industry, building on the efficiencies of our existing combined services offering and providing unique solutions to customers across the UK. BIS ATG also operates in sectors currently not serviced by BIS which we believe will also benefit from the businesses broad base of competencies and our focus on reducing costs and performance risk for customers investment and maintenance needs.
