Member news: Chemical Headhunters embrace Institute of Directors Standards

Chemical headhunters The Recruitment Management Group (RMG) are pleased to announce that their Managing Director Andrew Evans has completed and passed both the Diploma and Certificate in Company Direction run by the Institute of Directors (IoD).  Completing both modules over the past year at Salford University, Andrew is one of only3% of professionally qualified company directors and is now completing his professional portfolio in order to attain Chartered Director recognition.

Commenting, Andrew said "I signed up for the IoD qualification in order to prepare RMG for growth. The learning experience has been thorough, with a great deal of focus on the issues of Corporate Governance and the Combined Code, which are mandatory for PLC companies; and are the standards to which SME's must aspire." Immediately putting the learning into practice, RMG has appointed Maurice Summerson as its first Non Executive Director.  Maurice brings independent business experience, having operated as Chairman or Managing Director in several sectors.
 
One of Maurice's first tasks has been to shape the company's structure following participation in the North West Development Agency backed 'High Growth Programme', a key element of which is the development of the senior management team in preparation for expansion of the board.

Maurice is one of six IoD accredited 'Business Coaches' and holds a variety of business interests, particularly the fostering of values based leadership.  His personal interests include extreme motorcycling and mountaineering.

Concluding, Andrew stated, "The IoD qualifications and appointment of Maurice are key factors in enhancing RMG's credentials as we seek growth, particularly by adding to the number of mandates we currently handle at Board and Senior Executive level".
