About Cogent SSC Ltd

Cogent is the Sector Skills Council for the science-based industries, including Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Petroleum and Polymers.

We work with employers and industry groups to understand the skills needs of businesses and to develop qualifications and skills solutions that add value to individuals and toproductivity.

We have a Board of key employers from the process, nuclear and upstream and downstream industries, and Trade Union and Academia representatives.

We currently represent the skills interests of nearly 20,000 businesses and 900,000 people.
