The learning from Buncefield
23rd September - Heath Business Park, Runcorn
Five years have passed since the Buncefield accident but the repercussions are still being felt in all sectors of the process industry.
This forum will explore the implications of the PSLG standard for the Process Industry, including rollout of the requirements by the HSE and EA. For example, the EA is using the standard to enforce its 2008 Containment Policy, requiring sites to assess their arrangements for secondary and tertiary containment against detailed checklists, and produce long-term improvement strategies. The HSE has stated that whilst the PSLG standard will be enforced on all in-scope sites, the principles will be applied to all sites handling dangerous substances.
