Process Safety Management Conference

2nd November 2010, Manchester

Effective Process Safety Management (PSM) should be a fundamental activity within an organisation for the identification, evaluation and control of process hazards to prevent major accidents. It follows that inherent process safety principles should be at the core of your overall safety culture to prevent process related injuries and incidents. The disjoint between occupational safety management and PSM is often the cause of failure for traditional safety management programmes. Senior company officials do not always appreciate and understand this difference in safety management approach when safety statistics and auditing programmes report back high compliance. Yet incidents such as Texas City and Buncefield continue to occur on a regular basis.
