Free Nanotechnology seminar

14th July 2010

The Chemical Industries Association, together with the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (DBIS) and the Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTN), cordially invite you to a FREE one-day event on 14 July at the DBIS conference centre in central London to:

    • Stimulate and exchange views on the developing regulatory regime for nanomaterials;

    • Engage with key stakeholders;

    • Provide the opportunity for networking with others interested in nanotechnology.

We have invited David Willetts, Science and Universities Minister to give a keynote speech at the event and have secured high level speakers from Industry, Which?, the finance community and Government officials.

This exciting FREE one-day event is targeted at senior representatives from: companies involved in nanotechnology; or looking to develop new high tech products; regulators and other interested parties.  This seminar will help you understand the challenges facing commercialisation. The day will cover all aspects of commercialisation from innovation, to regulation and other requirements for success of nanotechnology in the UK.

Any future health, safety and environment regulatory decisions on nanotechnology and subsequent enforcement within the UK will impact on both producers and users of nanomaterials i.e. through REACH, Cosmetic Products, Novel Foods and other consumer product legislation. How we engage in the public debate on nanotechnology is extremely important for the reputation of the industry.
