GM crops are not a panacea but they do have the potential to improve agriculture in the UK and also enhance global food security. We must achieve an environment in which UK science can make a full contribution to important global issues like food supply. Now is the time for everyone to demand that activists stop spreading misinformation and preventing new scientific knowledge from being accumulated. This is a public lecture and open discussion as part of National Science Week.
