A Practical Guide to Carbon Footprinting
8th December 2010 - Groundwork Environment Centre, Blackburn, BB2 3GE
The increasing demand for environmentally sensitive products and services has led to an increased need for environmental performance reporting. You have probably already observed an increase in the number of environmental questions posted to the organisation from customers, suppliers and Government departments. It is
likely the term carbon footprint has been referred to and you are now wondering, what is that? How are we going to do that? What is in it for us?
Alternatively, the need to address the environmental impact of the organisation’s activities may be purely internally driven and you may want to learn more about voluntary carbon footprint reporting to improve organisational reputation or to drive efficiency improvements.
Whether the pressure is internal or external, or you just want to know more about Carbon Footprinting, this workshop is for you. The content is pitched at an introductory level and explores the methodology, the benefits and reporting considerations. The morning finishes with a look at resource efficiencies and ways to reduce the organisational
carbon footprint. The workshop includes a combination of presentations, group discussion, practical exercises and an individual work based action plan to aid the learning experience.
