Once again, Chemicals Northwest is delighted to be supporting the Kickstart event, aimed at enthusing the 'very-near' next generation to persue careers in the chemicals sector.
The event is primarily aimed at chemistry and chemical engineering undergraduates and postgraduates across the the North West, but we're always keen to get a good group of industrialists in attendance too to pass on advice and field questions.
The 'formal' element of the evening is a 60 minute quick series of talks from a selection of young(-ish) people from the sector who give frank views and opinions of finding jobs, changing jobs, staying in academia, switching directions, learning from mistakes and usually with a conclusion of "it was all worth it!". The informal element centres around a free buffet (with beer... they are students, after all) and discussions with the nice helpful 'older' people.
This year we're taking over the chemistry department at Manchester University, on Thursday 3rd February from 5pm - 8pm.
If you're not a student, please email email@example.com to confirm your attendance. Exhibition space is also available if you are interested in promoting your company for employment within the region.
If you are a student, please see the poster below for details of how to sign up through the Facebook page.
