Dave Hawthorn will give a short presentation on “The Chemicals Northwest Members’ Buying Group” and how it has been operating for several years with many members having benefitted from the combined leverage of over £1.4bn. The discounted agreements in place cover all common overheads such as office costs, PPE and telecoms but also delivered savings in more significant areas such as utilities, insurance and logistics. Dave Hawthorn, who oversees the Buying Group, will give a progress update showing examples of success and answer any questions members may have.”
Sean Regan from TTE Training Limited will be discussing TTE's engineering apprentice ship programme in electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance or pipe fitting and how companies can get a trained apprentice for only £99 per week with day release. Sean will also speak about fully/part funded employed apprenticeships in Business Administration, Warehousing and Management for existing employers that are under the age of 24, which is a great opportunity to upskill any workforce.
Steven Rossington from the University of Salford will be discussing "Chemistry at The University of Salford" and how the University is investigating new programme courses and analysing potential chemistry provision interaction in the 14-19 cohort.
John Hanson from Avanti Environmental will also be giving a 5 minute presentation on the day.
