The next CNW breakfast event is taking place on the 12th July at the Heath. The main focus of these events is to “Network” with like- minded people from the Chemical Sector. Please come along and join us at this free event...you never know who you might meet and potentially do business with next! We will also feature 4 short pitches on industry related topics in addition to the networking opportunities.
Lorelly Wilson from Lorelly Wilson Ltd will be speaking about how schools often invite businesses to talk to students about their work and give careers advice. Lorelly will also demonstrate a few simple experiments, needing almost no kit at all, that businesses can take in to schools to show pupils how exciting chemistry is.
Paul Oldham from Kelly Scientific Resources will be providing a brief update on current skills shortages within the sector and the impact of European legislation on your flexible workforce. Paul will also give a brief overview of the potential services of KSR.
Sue Ennis from Wirral Metropolitan College will be speaking about their recruitment starting in September for the Higher Apprenticeships for Life Sciences & Chemicals Professionals and will also introduce the NEBOSH Award in Health, Safety and Environment in the Process Industries, a key component of Cogent’s Gold Standard framework for Continuous professional development within the Process Industries.
Ms Suha Batarseh, Chemicals Commercial Officer, British Embassy Amman, Jordan will give a snapshot on Jordan, the Jordanian chemical industry and how UKTI Jordan can assist North West businesses to find customers. (A more detailed presentation by Suha on how to do business with Jordan and the opportunities for UK companies, followed by a round table discussion, will take place in the Redwood Room after the Breakfast Network.) We will also have a short slot from Marie-Louise Archer, H.M.Consul General from British Consulate General in Alexandria, Egypt.
This event is free to attend - anyone who is not a member of Chemicals Northwest, come along, see what we are all about and find out how membership can benefit your business. If you want to raise awareness or promote your own events or initiatives, let us know, and you can have a 1 minute pitch on the day.
