Our sixth breakfast event istaking place on 28th March at the Heath. The main focus of these events is to “Network” with like- minded people from the Chemical Sector. We also feature short pitches on industry related topics in addition to the networking opportunities. Bryan Hughes from CRA Europe will be discussing the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) and the changes made to the original IPPC Directive, in particular major changes to the Large Combustion Plant (LCP) Directive. Although this will apply to users of existing LCP by January 2016, such users must also notify whether or not they intend joining a Transitional National Plan by 8th May 2012. Bryan will also speak about Developments Involving Demolition and the fact that developers considering demolition activities will now need to consider environmental issues. Following a Court of Appeal ruling in March 2011, Bryan will highlight that the judgment nullifies parts of the UK’s Town and Country Planning Regulations and that almost all demolition now needs planning permission. As a result a full EIA or the provision of environmental information may be required by the Planning authorities.George Forrest from Altremis will be speaking about Altremis’s win at the North of England Excellence Awards where they won the “Special Award for Lean”.
