The July Chemical Elements will feature 3 presentations on how to improve your business. These presentations will cover a broad spectrum of topics from; how to market your business successfully to improving your HR function. We are also hoping to have a presentation from the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service on aspects of site safety from their point of view.
Sarah Galbraith from Galbraith Muir Consultancy will be speaking about Improving Marketing and Commercial Skills - Many chemical companies are making insufficient use of well-proven tools for marketing and other commercial activities, whilst others are finding considerable benefits in deploying them. This talk will outline techniques which have been used effectively in science-based businesses such as chemical and related sectors.
Steve Farnworth from Beaufort Performance Management Limited will be speaking about Change without Conflict: Why is it that many business improvement activities or change initiatives fail even when they are based upon good ideas? By ensuring that we understand the needs, emotions and values of all concerned we can maximise the likelihood of the change process being successful. Using the classic Change Curve we will review the three significant management periods in delivering “High Performance Change Management”; Objective Setting, Engagement & Embedding.
